Couldn't get a clean direction today. The Street ended up split right down the middle as those Iran headlines kept everyone twitchy heading into the long weekend.

S&P 500 finished at 6,582.69, up just 0.11% after clawing back from bigger losses intraday. Dow gave up 0.13% to close at 46,504.67. Nasdaq was the only one with any real conviction, +0.18% to 21,879.18 on tech holding its ground.

The diplomatic signals out of the Middle East prevented a proper selloff, but you could feel the hesitation across the tape. Light holiday volume didn't help either—nobody wanted to make big bets with this uncertainty lingering.

What matters is the split personality. Tech resilience kept the Nasdaq green while the broader index action showed traders are still nervous about escalation risks. We've seen this movie before: geopolitical flares create these choppy, low-conviction closes that often get resolved (one way or the other) after the break.

The catch? Any negative weekend headline from the region could set an ugly tone for next week. Equally, if things cool off, we could see a relief bid. Most of the desks I know are either hedged or sitting in cash rather than forcing anything.
